Ram Sampath Supports Wife Sona Mohapatra’s MeToo Battle, Says He Is Proud Of Her For Standing Up For Herself
Sona Mohapatra is known for very fearlessly voicing her opinion on social media and raising her voice on social issues that matter, especially those pertaining to sexual misconduct and harassment in the wake of the MeToo movement. Mohapatra had been very open about her opinion after #MeToo accused Anu Malik was reinstated as the judge on Indian Idol 11. She slammed him as well as the makers for bringing him back on the show. So after Anu Malik stepped down as a judge from Indian Idol 11 , she thanked everyone who supported her in her fight and revealed that she will finally sleep well. Now, her husband Ram Sampath too has supported her MeToo battle.

Ram Sampath, in an interview with ZoomTV, talked about Sona Mohapatra’s MeToo fight and said that he is very proud of his wife and every other woman who is standing up for the movement. He said, “It's been very hard, a very tough battle. And it's not done... I don't think the MeToo movement is a flash in the pan, it's a cultural movement. It's a paradigm shift and it's going to change the future of our business." He also said that women’s rights get pushed to the bach burner and it’s a shame.  “The legalisation of women's rights takes the longest time, they are promised fast-track courts and the fast-track courts are still not set up. Things always take time and justice is always a tokenism, it's not even real,” he added. Ram Sampath expressed his pride and said he was proud of how his wife Sona Mohapatra fought the battle.
